Crypto.com Tops Security Certifications, Offers $2M Bug Bounty

Crypto.com, a global cryptocurrency exchange with over 100 million users, has reaffirmed its commitment to top-tier security. The firm's Chief Information Security Officer, Jason Lau, highlighted their dedication to maintaining the highest security certifications.

Crypto.com's dedication to security is evident in their bug bounty program, launched in December 2020. The program, hosted on HackerOne, has seen Crypto.com itself claim the top spot, offering a staggering $2 million in rewards. This is the largest sum available across all bug bounty programs on the platform.

The firm's security measures are further bolstered by its adherence to the highest tier of the NIST Cybersecurity and Privacy Frameworks. This commitment has led Crypto.com to become the first virtual asset platform to achieve multiple security and privacy certifications. These include SOC2 Type 2, PCI DSS 4.0, ISO 27017, ISO 27019, ISO 22301, ISO 27701, and ISO 27001.

Despite these robust security measures, the cryptocurrency industry remains vulnerable. In 2023 alone, North Korean hackers stole at least $600 million in cryptocurrency, according to blockchain intelligence firm TRM. Crypto.com's commitment to maintaining top-tier security certifications and running comprehensive bug bounty programs is a testament to its dedication to protecting its users and their assets.
