Croatia Airlines Endures Greater Losses in 2025 Compared to 2024's Figures
Up, Up, and Away! The Tumultuous Flight of Croatia Airlines
It's 2025, and Croatia Airlines is making headlines again, this time for all the wrong reasons. The national airline amassed a whopping 15.9 million euros in losses during Q1, surpassing the already concerning figure from the same period in 2024.
As reported by Poslovni Dnevnik/Marija Brnic, the transition to a new fleet last year didn't pan out as hoped, and the troubles look set to escalate with the acceptance of the Airbus A220s this year.
Last year's total revenue reached 269 million euros, a 2% increase, but costs grew at a faster rate of 10%, reaching 288 million euros. This metes out continued losses of 19.4 million euros for Croatia Airlines.

Passenger numbers increased by about 2% during the beginning of the year, with a more significant bump in Croatian scheduled traffic. Nevertheless, depreciation costs and increased employee income due to the collective agreement and hiring of new pilots and staff swelled operating costs in Q1 by 7%.
You guessed it – the notorious aircraft delivery delays plague Croatia Airlines once more, causing new costs and operational difficulties. The good news? The first of this year's Airbus A220s is expected to land in May, with the airline currently operating 14 aircraft.
