Coperion Marks 280 Years of Material Handling Excellence

Coperion, a global leader in material handling and processing, marks significant milestones this year. The company's predecessor, Waeschle, originally founded by J. Soder for grain and flour processing, pioneered pneumatic conveying and later plastics handling. Today, Coperion's facilities in Weingarten, Niederlenz, and Noida celebrate a combined 280 years of operation.

The Weingarten facility in Germany, and the Niederlenz plant in Switzerland, both reach 125 years of operation. Weingarten specializes in bulk material handling, offering conveying, homogenizing, separating, heating, and cooling solutions. It designs turnkey systems for the compounding industry. Meanwhile, Coperion Ideal in Noida, India, celebrates its 30th anniversary, serving the Indian and Southeast Asian markets for two decades.

Coperion K-Tron in Niederlenz has been at the forefront of feeding technology. It introduced the first volumetric feeder, twin screw feeder, digital weighing technology, and the SmartConnex control system. Today, Coperion employs over 5,000 people across 50 global locations, operating three divisions: Performance Materials, Food, Health & Nutrition, and Aftermarket Sales & Service. The company is an operating unit of Hillenbrand.

From its origins in grain processing to its current status as a global material handling leader, Coperion's journey spans nearly three centuries. With its rich history, advanced technology, and global presence, the company continues to shape the industry's future.
