The SAGA corporate group has celebrated a significant milestone in the development of residential construction in Hamburg-Horn with a topping-out ceremony at Weddestraße. This event marks another step forward in the ambitious urban master plan "Upstream on Elbe and Bille," which includes the Culinstraße and Dahrendorfweg projects.

The Culinstraße project, scheduled for completion in April 2026, consists of two L-shaped building bodies with five to seven floors, containing a total of 220 apartments. Of these, 51 will be publicly subsidized, including 11 barrier-free units. The Dahrendorfweg project, developed by SAGA, will add 142 publicly subsidized apartments to the mix.

The new buildings will feature brick surfaces on the street side, while the courtyard facades will be designed in light render surfaces. The apartments range from one-and-a-half to five rooms and come equipped with terraces, balconies, or glazed loggias. Rents at the Dahrendorfweg project will start at 7.10 euros per square meter.

The Culinstraße project will also incorporate energy-efficient features such as photovoltaic systems and green roofs. Additionally, it will offer play and outdoor areas for the benefit of families, addressing the tense housing situation in Hamburg.

Ralf Neubauer, district administrator of Hamburg-Mitte, spoke of one of the largest new construction projects in eastern Hamburg. He emphasised that the new constructions in Horn, including Culinstraße and Dahrendorfweg, not only create urgently needed housing but also enhance the urban environment.

Around 100 parking spaces in an underground garage and 455 bicycle parking spaces will be provided for future tenants. The existing tree stock around the property will largely be preserved, ensuring a harmonious integration of the new constructions into the surrounding environment.

The project at Dahrendorfweg will also include a striking manufacturing building at the Horner ramp, adding to the significance of the development for the district of Horn. The Culinstraße project will also boast a photovoltaic system and green roof, contributing to the project's sustainability.

The completion of the Culinstraße project in April 2026 is eagerly anticipated, as it promises to bring much-needed housing and a positive impact on the urban environment in Hamburg-Horn.
