Competitors in the "FinRun" race raised 126,000 rubles for the "Harishchal" charitable organization.

In the chilly city of Yakutsk, an accountant named Dmitry Kapitonov laced up his running shoes and joined hundreds of participants in the annual "FinRun" event. This year, the number of participants increased from 120 to around 300, marking a significant growth in interest.

Organised by the public organisation "Sulus Sport" running community, "FinRun" is dedicated to Financial Literacy Day and aims to improve financial literacy among the population. Dmitry, an accountant at company "Kamellek", is a new individual participant in this year's event. He chose the 5km distance for "FinRun" and is working towards his goal of participating in similar events.

Dmitry participated in the "FinRun" for the first time representing the sports organisation "Yakutsk Running Club." Teams participating in the event wore identical uniforms and carried their institution's flags, creating a strong sense of unity among the participants. Marfa Troeyeva, head of "Sulus Sport", noted that the run showcases this unity perfectly.

Ivan Alekseyev, Acting Minister of Finance of Yakutia, also noted an increase in the number of participants. He expressed his delight at the growing interest in financial literacy and the positive impact the event has on the community.

A portion of the collected funds was directed towards the annual rehabilitation of a young Yakutian girl. The development of sports and physical culture, as Dmitry's participation suggests, promotes a healthy lifestyle and economic growth.

This year, several distances were prepared for "FinRun", including 5km, 10km, 5km Nordic walking, and a relay race in teams of four. Yakutsk is hosting more runs this year, including the Russian Championship for 100km running. The Russian Championship features the strongest athletes in the country, providing a challenging and exciting addition to the city's running calendar.

Several collectives participated in "FinRun" in Yakutsk, with over 60 teams taking part. Individual participants, in addition to collectives, could register for "FinRun" this year, making it accessible to a wider audience.

As Dmitry Kapitonov crosses the finish line, he represents not just himself, but the growing number of individuals embracing a healthy lifestyle and financial literacy in Yakutsk.
