Competitive Telecom Firm, 1N Telecom, Announced to the Consumer Protection Agency

In recent times, consumers across Germany have been receiving demand letters from TPI Investment GmbH regarding alleged DSL contracts with 1N Telecom. These letters demand approximately 420 Euros plus additional fees for supposed outstanding payments made online or in writing between 2023 and 2024.

However, it is essential for consumers to approach these demands with caution. Many claims are considered dubious or unfounded by consumer protection groups, with reports of consumers who either never completed the contract process or cancelled it on time, yet still received payment demands.

The consumer association of Lower Saxony has warned that these demands should not be ignored. Consumers are advised to respond promptly, within 14 days, to avoid further legal or financial consequences. But, they should also scrutinize the legitimacy of these claims and may seek advice from consumer protection organizations before making payments.

If you find yourself in such a situation, the North Rhine-Westphalia Consumer Advice Center can provide assistance. Located at Wilhelmstr. 5-7, 46483 Wesel, you can reach them by phone at +49 00 0281 473684 01. Their head is Karin Bordin.

Consumers who need further support or are unsure about the validity of the contract can contact the North Rhine-Westphalia Consumer Advice Center. They recommend requesting the assignment certificate for the claim. If the assignment certificate is not available, consumers are advised not to pay anything.

It is important to note that TPI Investment GmbH is a separate entity handling the debt collection for 1N Telecom claims. TPI Investment GmbH presents evidence for the alleged contract conclusion with 1N Telecom: either a signed contract or an EDV protocol.

The Consumer Advice Centers have been dealing with various advertising actions of the Düsseldorf telecommunications provider 1N Telecom for some time. In fact, they are currently taking legal action against the company.

If you believe the demand is unfounded, the North Rhine-Westphalia Consumer Advice Center provides a sample letter for objection to TPI Investment GmbH. Consumers should object to the claim promptly to avoid enforcement orders or entries in credit agencies. A withdrawal remains valid against TPI Investment GmbH as a new claimant.
