Company Apex names new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Business Officer (CBO)
Apex Group Appoints Kimberly DeTrask as CFO and Maxwell Johnston as CBO
Apex Group, a leading financial services provider, has announced significant changes in its leadership team. The company has appointed Kimberly DeTrask as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Maxwell Johnston as Chief Business Officer (CBO), effective as of the date of the news article.
Kimberly DeTrask brings a wealth of experience to her new role at Apex Group. Prior to joining the company, she served for over 12 years at State Street, most recently as Treasurer and Executive Vice President. Before her tenure at State Street, she spent 14 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in its risk and policy unit, contributing to key regulatory and risk frameworks. DeTrask is a chartered financial analyst and an alumna of Harvard’s CFO leadership programme. Her appointment as CFO at Apex Group is effective from 1 October 2025.
Maxwell Johnston, a current member of Apex Group's Executive Committee, has also been appointed as Chief Business Officer (CBO). Johnston has been a key figure at Apex Group for the past 8 years, holding several roles within the company. He has previously driven M&A strategy at Apex Group and has also served as interim-CFO. The specifics of his role and responsibilities as CBO are yet to be announced.
Apex Group, with its new leadership team, is poised to continue its growth and success in the financial services sector. The appointments of DeTrask and Johnston are expected to strengthen the company's strategic direction and operational capabilities.
