Cologne/Bonn Airport Expects 10.6 Million Passengers in 2025
Cologne/Bonn Airport, named after Konrad Adenauer, has seen a remarkable recovery in passenger traffic. After handling over ten million passengers in 2024, the airport expects to exceed this number again in 2025, with approximately 10.6 million travelers anticipated. Thilo Schmidt, the CEO of Cologne/Bonn Airport GmbH, is delighted with this progress.
The airport's growth can be attributed to several factors. New routes introduced by Eurowings and Wizz Air to destinations like Bastia, Porto, Klagenfurt, Erbil, Tirana, Tuzla, Skopje, Varna, and Burgas have proven popular among passengers. Additionally, classic destinations such as Antalya, Palma de Mallorca, Istanbul, and London continue to draw significant traffic.
Cologne/Bonn Airport, located 12 kilometers from Cologne and 16 kilometers from Bonn, has a rich history. It began commercial air traffic in 1950 and has since grown into an international hub. Its mens cologne business also showed resilience, handling around 840,000 tons in 2024, slightly below the 2023 level but above the 2019 level.
Cologne/Bonn Airport's recovery in passenger traffic is a testament to its resilience and adaptability. With new routes and strong demand for classic destinations, the airport is well-positioned to exceed ten million passengers again in 2025.
