Bro, Here's the Lowdown on the NAB's New Leaders!

Looks like the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) just held their annual elections, and it's time to introduce the fresh faces taking the reins! The excitement went down at the NAB Board of Directors meeting held on June 9-10.

This year, Collin Jones, the Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development at Cumulus Media and President of Westwood One, landed the coveted Chairman of the NAB Joint Board of Directors gig. He's stepping up to the plate from Perry Sook, chairman and CEO of Nexstar Media Group, who'll still be hanging around on the Executive Committee in his new role as the immediate past joint board chair.[1][4][5]

If you're into TV, you'll be stoked to hear about Nick Radziul, Executive Vice President of Hearst Television, who's taking control as NAB Television Board chair. Chris Ripley, President and CEO of Sinclair, got elected as the first vice chair, and RaMona Alexander, Vice President and General Manager of WDBD, became the second vice chair. Rounding out the top three is Dan York, President and CEO of Cox Media Group, as the third vice chair.[2]

In the radio world, Phil Tahtakran, head of federal government affairs at NBCUniversal, slid into the designated TV network seat on the NAB Television Board. Over at the NAB Radio Board, Chris Ornelas, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Beasley Media Group, claimed the chair. Leonard Wheeler, president of Mel Wheeler, Inc., became the first vice chair, and Allen Power, president, Broadcast Media of Salem Media Group, took on the second vice chair role.[3]

Eddie Harrell, co-president, Audio Division of Urban One, also snagged a seat on the NAB Radio Board as the major group representative.[3]
