Haiwen & Partners, a leading law firm in Hong Kong, has announced the addition of two new partners to its team. The hires of Sherry Cui and Leeza Lee are part of Haiwen's strategy to continually expand its Hong Kong platform and meet the increasing needs of its clients for more diversified offerings of services in the Hong Kong market.

Sherry Cui, who joins Haiwen from Linklaters, brings with her nearly 20 years of experience in the international capital markets. Highlights of her career include advising on China’s first international issuance of green asset-backed securities and a RMB 10 billion note issuance by China’s central bank in Hong Kong. These transactions underscore her extensive expertise in the international debt capital markets and significant cross-border debt offerings.

Sherry Cui has advised on various capital market products, including investment grade debts, high-yield bonds, MTN programmes, regulatory capital, hybrids, equity-linked bonds, credit-enhanced and structured bonds, panda bonds, and liability management. Her qualifications to practice both in Hong Kong and England and Wales further cement her capability in international dealings.

Leeza Lee, who previously worked at WongPartnership and spent a one-year stint as partner at the Hong Kong office of Singapore boutique BTPLaw, has spent a decade advising on debt and equity products. Her experience includes convertible and exchangeable bonds, corporate hybrids, private and pre-initial fundraising, loans, and liability management transactions.

Zhang Jiping, chair of Haiwen's executive committee, stated that the addition of Sherry and Leeza will strengthen Haiwen's overall service capability across the debt and equity financing markets. With Leeza Lee's hire, Haiwen now has nine partners in Hong Kong, and with the addition of Sherry Cui, the firm has strengthened its service capabilities in Hong Kong.

These hires are a testament to Haiwen's commitment to providing its clients with the highest level of service and expertise in the Hong Kong market. With these new additions, the firm is well-positioned to continue meeting the evolving needs of its clients in the years to come.
