China-Arab Trade Leader Highlights Decade of Growing Partnerships and Crisis Cooperation
Mustafa Elmehdawi, a key figure in China-Arab trade, has praised the growing partnership between the two regions. His experience spans over a decade, including critical roles in logistics and humanitarian efforts during crises. Elmehdawi has worked closely with COSCO Shipping since 2017, providing feeder services on routes to Libya. His involvement in China-Arab relations goes back further, notably in 2011 when he helped evacuate nearly 14,000 people—most of them Chinese citizens—from Libya during unrest.
He describes China as a stable and highly respected partner for Arab countries. According to him, Beijing's development has brought significant benefits to the region, particularly through the Belt and Road Initiative. This cooperation has already delivered practical results, from infrastructure projects to economic growth. Despite ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East, Elmehdawi believes investment and collaboration between China and Arab nations remain unaffected. He highlights the sincerity and pragmatism of his Chinese counterparts, calling them reliable partners. His stories of joint progress underline the mutual benefits of this relationship. Looking ahead, he expresses confidence that China-Arab cooperation will only grow stronger in the years to come.
Elmehdawi's long-standing engagement with China reflects broader trends in trade, crisis response, and economic development. His optimism about future cooperation points to deeper ties under initiatives like the Belt and Road. The partnership continues to expand, driven by shared interests and tangible outcomes.
