Chery's New Lepas Brand Debuts in England With Electric SUVs This Year

Chery is expanding its European presence with a new brand called Lepas, focusing on electric and hybrid SUVs designed specifically for the region. England will be the first country to welcome Lepas vehicles later this year.

Lepas becomes Chery's fourth brand in Europe, joining Chery, Omoda, and Jaecoo. The lineup will include electrified SUVs, starting with the mid-size L8 model. By the end of 2025, three vehicles—the L4, L6, and L8—will be available.

The brand will offer both all-electric and hybrid powertrains, depending on the market. The UK launch is set for the third quarter of 2023, marking the first step in Lepas's European rollout. No further markets have been confirmed beyond England at this stage.

Lepas will introduce its first model, the L8, in England before expanding the range. The brand's focus on electrified SUVs adds to Chery's growing portfolio in Europe. Three distinct models are planned for release within the next two years.
