Charter Expands AMC Networks Partnership, Adds AMC+ for Spectrum TV Customers
Charter has announced an expansion of its partnership with AMC Networks. This move benefits Spectrum TV customers, who now have access to AMC Networks' programming across various platforms. The agreement ensures customers can enjoy AMC Networks' content, including the ad-supported version of AMC+ at no extra cost.
The deal includes the addition of AMC+ to Charter's offerings. This streaming service provides same-day access to AMC original series and access to other platforms like Shudder, Sundance Now, and IFC Films Unlimited. Spectrum TV Select customers will receive this service at no additional cost, while Internet-only customers can purchase it.
Charter's Spectrum TV Select Plus and Select Signature customers also benefit from programming deals. They receive over $40 and $30 per month in retail value for streaming apps, respectively. This includes AMC Networks' portfolio of linear cable networks such as AMC, BBC America, IFC, SundanceTV, and We TV.
Kim Kelleher, AMC Networks' chief commercial officer, expressed that the agreement ensures Spectrum TV customers can access AMC Networks' programming across different viewing preferences. Tom Montemagno, Charter's executive vice president of programming acquisition, stated that the addition of AMC+ supports Charter's goal of enhancing the value and variety of premium entertainment content.
AMC Networks and Charter Communications have agreed to an early renewal of their distribution agreement for multiple years. This ensures continued access to AMC Networks' programming for Spectrum TV customers. The addition of AMC+ to Charter's offerings further enriches the viewing experience for customers, providing them with a wide range of entertainment options.
