Charging Tariff Granted Once More
In a significant development for electric vehicle (EV) owners across Europe, EWE Go, a subsidiary of the Oldenburg energy service provider EWE AG, has been recognised for its innovative charging tariff. The tariff, which offers a fixed electricity price for both AC and DC charging at public EV charging stations, has been awarded the title of "cheapest loading tariff of free providers" by AUTO BILD [1].
With access to approximately 500,000 charging points across Europe, EWE Go operates one of the largest public charging networks in the northwest of Germany, boasting around 3,000 charging points [2]. The EWE Go app, available for users, shows available charging stations in real-time, offers intelligent filter functions, and allows starting, monitoring, and ending the charging process directly via smartphone [3].
The app-based charging solution has also received recognition from Connect Professional, which has awarded "highly recommended up to 1,000 km/month" to EWE Go in its current loading test [1]. This endorsement follows similar recognition the tariff received last year [4]. Connect Professional titles EWE Go "highly recommended" due to its transparent pricing structure and fair design without monthly fixed costs [5].
The pricing model itself focuses on a transparent, fixed per-kWh rate rather than variable or ad-hoc pricing. While no specific kWh cost was provided, the tariff emphasizes simplicity and digital ease of use [1][3]. From August 1, 2025, EWE Go will introduce a blockage fee of 10 cents per minute at partner stations if a vehicle remains connected longer than necessary, while this fee will not apply at EWE Go’s own charging stations [2].
Ilker Akkaya, CEO of EWE Go, expressed delight over the double success in testing and the excellent results [6]. "We are thrilled to receive these accolades, which underscore our commitment to providing affordable and convenient charging solutions for electric vehicle owners," said Akkaya.
Private customers can charge 100% green electricity at EWE Go charging stations and have access to more than 500,000 partner charging points throughout Europe with the EWE Go charging tariff and app [7]. A physical charging card is also available as an alternative to the EWE Go app [3].
In addition to its affordability and convenience, EWE Go's charging infrastructure is one of the largest operators in Germany [8]. The company continues to innovate and improve its services, making electric mobility more accessible and cost-effective for all.

In light of the recognition, EWE Go's charging tariff, renowned for its affordability, has been titled "cheapest loading tariff of free providers" by AUTO BILD [1]. With over 500,000 charging points in Europe [7], EWE Go's involvement in the technology sector of the electric vehicle industry [8] is substantial, making charging solutions more accessible and cost-effective through the use of finance to invest in infrastructure and services.
