CER Seeks Junior Transport Economist to Shape EU Railway Policy in Brussels

Based in Brussels, the role will focus on linking microeconomic research with broader economic trends to support the organisation's policy work. Applications for the position will close on 10 April 2026.

CER represents more than 70 railway operators, infrastructure managers, and vehicle leasing firms across Europe. The organisation plays an active part in shaping EU transport policies, advocating for the sector's interests. The new hire will work within the Economics team, reporting directly to the Head of the Economics Unit.

The job involves analysing economic data to inform CER's policy positions. Tasks will include studying microeconomic factors while also considering wider industry trends. Collaboration with colleagues will be key, as the role supports the organisation's broader advocacy efforts. Interested candidates can find more details and apply online. The full job description is available on CER's website at https://www.cer.be/about-us/jobs.

The successful applicant will contribute to CER's policy influence in Brussels. Their work will help shape economic arguments for the railway sector's priorities. The deadline for submissions remains 10 April 2026.
