Celebrating Women's Day 2025 with trailblazing women driving change
At Bühler Southern Africa, the spirit of Women's Day is not just about celebrating a day, but recognising the women who are breaking barriers, building legacies, and inspiring the next generation. This year, we honour Pearl Nyathi, Shenaid de Wet, and Nosipho Dlamini, three remarkable women who are making a significant impact in their respective fields.
Pearl Nyathi, the IT Team Leader in the IT Department, is a champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at Bühler. Her role involves allocating support tasks, monitoring infrastructure, and aligning digital solutions with broader company goals. Pearl's contributions highlight Bühler's commitment to inclusivity, which supports professional growth and recognition based on merit, reflecting the company's DEI values in practice.
Pearl credits Bühler's inclusive ethos for much of her growth. She began her professional journey at Bühler as a learner and advanced through the ranks, from Junior IT Support to Senior Technician, and now Team Leader. Pearl completed a Diploma in Accounting and Business and redirected her path towards technology through an IT skills development program.
Shenaid de Wet, the Shipping Manager in the Shipping Department, is another inspiring figure at Bühler. With nearly three decades of experience in the shipping and logistics industry, Shenaid started her career cleaning storerooms and worked her way up through determination and tenacity. Shenaid finds inspiration in Bühler's active commitment to DEI, noting the presence of women in non-traditional roles such as boilermakers and installation specialists.
Shenaid de Wet is also the Shipping Manager in the Shipping Department at Bühler and has worked there for over 15 years.
Nosipho Dlamini, a Boilermaker in the Machining Department, is another shining example of a woman thriving in a technical field at Bühler. Nosipho recently earned her Red Seal certificate and takes pride in proving that women can thrive in these fields. She encourages young women considering STEM careers to be certain of their career choice, push beyond their limits, and always work hard for their future.
Bühler believes that empowering women is essential to shaping a future that is more resilient, equitable, and innovative. Bühler's DEI values are an enabler of real change, and individuals like Pearl, Shenaid, and Nosipho are living embodiments of these values.

On this Women's Day, Pearl sees it as a call to action for establishing truly inclusive workplaces in the sector. Shenaid views it as an important moment to recognise the achievements of women, raise awareness about gender inequality, and inspire continued progress towards a more inclusive workplace.
Let us continue to celebrate these remarkable women and their contributions, and strive for a future where everyone, regardless of gender, race, or background, can thrive and reach their full potential.
