Bychkov pledges to decrease the price of air cushion transport in Zarechye by 2.5 times.

In a bid to improve transportation and address the challenges posed by harsh weather conditions, the government of Yakutia has announced the purchase of five air-cushioned vehicles (ACVs), also known as hovercraft, for the Zarechye region.

The announcement was made by the Chairman of the government, Kirill Bychkov, who discussed the district's development with Vasily Vasilyevich Mikhailov, the first deputy head of the Megino-Kangalassky district, which is one of the districts in the Zarechye region.

The ACVs, known for their ability to travel over challenging terrains such as ice, snow, water, and swamps, will be distributed among five districts in the region. In the Zarechye region, which experiences extreme cold and has unreliable traditional transport routes during the off-season, these vehicles provide a reliable and affordable alternative for crossing the Lena River between Yakutsk and Nizhny Bestakh.

The operational flexibility, relatively low maintenance, and ability to carry passengers and goods efficiently make ACVs a practical solution in Yakutia's extreme environment. They enable year-round connectivity by bridging gaps when ice roads are too thin or water is not navigable for boats, thus addressing the harsh weather challenges and the limitations of conventional transport.

The purchase of these vehicles is a response to the challenges faced by residents during the off-season due to harsh weather conditions and unstable ice cover. The aim is to provide reliable and affordable transportation, reducing off-season transportation costs from 2000-4000 rubles to 800-1300 rubles.

The Chairman of the government has instructed the Ministry of Transport to submit the issue of funding for this purchase to the nearest commission. However, no further information is provided about the specific commission or the other districts in the Zarechye region that will receive air-cushioned vehicles.

ACVs have been used in regions like Yakutia for their ability to travel over challenging terrains, making them ideal for areas with severe and variable weather. Their use in the Zarechye region will undoubtedly improve off-season transport reliability and safety for crossings like Yakutsk-Nizhny Bestakh by overcoming the hazards posed by severe weather and unstable ice conditions.

In the context of improving off-season transportation and addressing weather challenges in the Zarechye region, the Ministry of Finance is likely to allocate funds for the distribution of air-cushioned vehicles among all districts, as their use in the industry can significantly decrease transport costs from 2000-4000 rubles to 800-1300 rubles. To ensure the smooth operation of these vehicles and better coordination between industry sectors, collaboration between the transport sector, finance, and even the finance sector in Yakutia might be necessary.
