BusinessCloud unveils Founder 250 to celebrate UK's top entrepreneurial talent

BusinessCloud has launched a search for the UK's top founder-led and founder-influenced companies. The inaugural Founder 250 list will be published in June, with nominations now open until April 30th. The initiative aims to highlight the critical role of entrepreneurs in driving economic growth.

The Founder 250 list seeks businesses that remain cash-generative and were established no later than 2024. Judges will prioritise companies with a strong sense of purpose, such as those holding B Corp certification or implementing clear ESG strategies. Sponsors of the list include RSM UK, CG, and OBI.

David Blacher, head of media and technology at RSM UK, has emphasised the vital contribution founders make to the economy. His comments align with the broader mission of the project, which aims to celebrate and support entrepreneurial talent. Alongside the list, BusinessCloud plans to expand its founder-focused content. A new podcast, *Naked Founder*, will launch later this week, offering unfiltered insights into the challenges and triumphs of running a business. The platform will also host UK-wide roundtables, positioning itself as a central hub for founder discussions. Chris Maguire, executive editor of BusinessCloud, has stated his ambition for the platform to become the leading destination for founder-related news and resources. The Founder 250 list marks the first step in this direction, though details such as the number of companies to be featured or the most represented sectors remain undisclosed.

Nominations for the Founder 250 list close on April 30th, with the final selection set for publication in June. The initiative, backed by major sponsors and accompanied by new content formats, seeks to recognise and amplify the impact of founder-driven businesses across the UK. Further updates on the list's composition and sector breakdown will follow in due course.
