British Columbia woman launches popular podcast featuring restaurant menu readings.
Julie Gauthier, a self-proclaimed foodie, has been making waves in the culinary world with her unique approach to helping people unwind. Her podcast, "Pepperoni Pizza Dreams", has gained a global entry and has been mentioned on the Guardian's list of best podcasts of the week.
Originally a high-stress communications professional in the government, Julie found solace in sleep podcasts when she started suffering from nighttime anxiety. This led her to create a podcast that was not a typical guided meditation, but rather a soothing journey through various menus from restaurants across Canada and around the globe.
Julie records herself reading menus for her podcast, her soothing voice captivating listeners and helping them fall asleep in less than five minutes. Her fellow foodie friends have commented on her voice, finding it as comforting as a warm slice of pizza on a chilly night.
Despite having no experience, Julie launched the popular "Hero Sandwich" pop-ups, which had a lineup around the block before they opened. This success has led her to quit her day job and plan for a real restaurant.
Julie's podcast features restaurants from more than a dozen cities, each episode taking listeners on a gastronomic adventure. She has released almost 40 episodes and her podcast has a global audience.
Julie's listeners find it amusing that they fall asleep so quickly after tuning in, but Julie advises that they should start pursuing their dreams and just do it. With her podcast and upcoming restaurant, Julie is certainly leading by example.
