Bridge construction at Rehbecke encountering setbacks
The construction of the new Rehbecke Bridge, located between Dahl and Priory, has hit a snag due to ongoing issues with the breaking news steelwork. The destruction of the original bridge during a century flood in the summer of 2021 necessitated the installation of a temporary D-bridge, which was loaned by the federal government.
Despite the progress made on the substructures of the new bridge, the delays in the steelwork are affecting the overall timeline. The WBH, the organisation overseeing the project, has identified issues with the steelwork as the cause of these delays.
The construction company responsible for the project, Leonhard Weiss, is currently facing challenges in meeting the required quality of the steelwork. As a result, extensive and time-consuming rework is necessary to ensure the successful completion of the new Rehbecke Bridge.
Despite these setbacks, the WBH remains committed to ensuring the successful completion of the new Rehbecke Bridge. They are working diligently to resolve the quality issues with the steelwork to ensure the timely completion of the project.
It is still uncertain when the installation and removal of the new Rehbecke Bridge will take place, but the WBH is dealing with the issues related to the steelwork to minimise further delays. The temporary D-bridge remains in place until the new bridge can be safely installed.
Construction of the new Rehbecke Bridge began this spring, and the WBH is hopeful that the issues with the steelwork will be resolved soon, allowing the project to progress and the temporary D-bridge to be removed. The organisation remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and efficiency of the new Rehbecke Bridge for the benefit of the community.
