Boosting ASEAN Taxonomy: New Guide Aims to Enhance Usability and Functionality
A regional adaptation guide is being developed to boost the usability and functionality of the ASEAN Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance. Our organisation, acting as a knowledge partner, is contributing to the International Platform on Sustainable Finance. We're collaborating with governments and partners to support the development and interoperability of taxonomies at various levels.
Sustainable finance taxonomies play a pivotal role in advancing the net-zero transition and meeting environmental and social objectives. CDP, in collaboration with other prominent organisations, is driving the development of a global framework for net-zero nature-positive taxonomies. Potential partner organisations include UNEP, IUCN, WBCSD, and SBTi, enabling a comprehensive, internationally coordinated approach.
Our organisation is an observer of the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance and actively engages with the European Union's sustainable finance policy initiatives. We're involved in developing the Common Framework of Sustainable Finance Taxonomies for Latin America and the Caribbean. Furthermore, we collaborate on multilateral platforms to support interoperability among sustainable finance taxonomies. Taxonomies can help unlock capital flows for sustainable development, including decarbonization, climate adaptation, and related areas like biodiversity and social inequality. We support the development of national taxonomies, such as the Brazilian Sustainable Taxonomy and the Costa Rica Sustainable Finance Taxonomy. Additionally, we're working with PRI and CBI to develop a joint taxonomy interoperability programme.
Our organisation is actively contributing to the development and interoperability of sustainable finance taxonomies at various levels. By supporting regional adaptation guides, national taxonomies, and collaborating with international partners, we aim to enhance the usability and functionality of these taxonomies. This, in turn, will help unlock capital flows for sustainable development and advance the net-zero transition.
