bolttech Expands in East Africa with Acquisition of Kenyan Car Insurance Platform mTek
Singapore-based insurtech bolttech has acquired mTek, a digital insurance platform in Kenya. The deal marks a step in bolttech’s plan to expand across East Africa and boost its global embedded car insurance services. mTek’s team, led by CEO Bente Krogmann, will remain in place during the transition.
Founded in Kenya, mTek provides an online platform for comparing, buying, and managing car insurance policies. The service works with major car insurance providers like GA Insurance, Sanlam, and Britam. It also partners with Mastercard to offer embedded car insurance solutions.
The deal reinforces bolttech’s position in East Africa while broadening its embedded car insurance offerings globally. mTek’s digital tools and local knowledge will become part of bolttech’s wider ecosystem. The companies will focus on ensuring a seamless integration for all stakeholders.
