BMW Reports Strong Sales Recovery with 8.8% Q3 Increase
BMW has reported a significant turnaround in sales, with an 8.8% increase in the third quarter to 588,300 cars. This marks the first rise in sales in over a year and a half for the German automaker, following five consecutive declines. The company's subsidiary, Mini, also saw a substantial increase, with sales rising by a third to 72,400 cars.
Rolls-Royce also experienced growth, with sales increasing by 13% to 1,304 cars in the same period. Looking at the broader picture, BMW sold approximately 1.8 million vehicles in the first three quarters of 2025, a slight increase of around 2 percent compared to the previous year. This positive trend can be attributed to strong sales growth in Europe, America, and for the Mini brand.
BMW's sales figures benefited from a significant drop in sales in the third quarter of 2024, partly due to brake issues with Continental. Despite this, the core BMW brand grew by 5.7% to 514,600 cars in the third quarter, outperforming the previous year's figure of 621,700 cars.
BMW's return to growth is a welcome development for the company, which has been facing challenges in recent years. With strong performances from both the core brand and the Mini subsidiary, BMW is now in the black for the full year, setting the stage for continued success.
