Blue Moon Metals secures Utah's Gage Project in critical metals expansion
Blue Moon Metals Inc. has completed the acquisition of the Gage Project in Southern Utah. The deal includes the issuance of 420,935 common shares to Liberty Gold as part of the payment. Alongside this, the company has appointed Reza Ehsani as Senior Vice President, Projects, bringing decades of industry experience to the team.
The Gage Project spans 5,916 hectares, covering 181 unpatented mining claims and two Utah SITLA leases. As part of the agreement, Blue Moon will pay a 4.0% royalty on non-fissionable materials and an 8.0% royalty on fissionable materials produced from the SITLA leases. Additionally, a 2.0% net smelter returns royalty applies to mineral production from the project, though the company retains an option to repurchase 1.0% of this for $2 million.
Blue Moon is also advancing five brownfield polymetallic projects, including Nussir, NSG, Blue Moon, Springer, and Apex. These sites are strategically located with existing infrastructure such as roads, power, and historical mining facilities. The projects target critical metals like zinc, copper, tungsten, germanium, and gallium—all listed by the USGS and/or EU as essential for modern industries. Reza Ehsani, the newly appointed Senior Vice President, Projects, brings over 29 years of experience in mining, oil and gas, and infrastructure. His role will focus on overseeing the development of these key assets as the company expands its portfolio.
The acquisition of the Gage Project strengthens Blue Moon's position in critical metals production. With established infrastructure and a new leadership appointment, the company aims to advance its polymetallic projects. The royalties and share issuance form part of the financial framework supporting this expansion.
