Billionaire Larry Ellison, through Oracle 2025, amassed a fortune exceeding 200 billion, placing him as the world's wealthiest individual.
Larry Ellison, the co-founder of Oracle Corporation, has become the biggest wealth gainer in the world this year, with his net worth more than quadrupling in less than three years.
According to recent reports, Ellison's net worth has surged to over $200 billion, making him one of the richest individuals globally. This significant increase was largely due to Oracle's impressive financial performance and Ellison's diversified investments.
Oracle's revenue is expected to reach $144 billion, a substantial increase from the approximately $57 billion reported in the last fiscal year. The company's market value has also increased to nearly $1 trillion, with Oracle's stock jumping 42% on Wednesday and reaching a record high.
The surge in Oracle's stock price was driven by investors' confidence in the company's growth prospects, particularly in its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Oracle CEO Safra Catz predicted that Oracle Cloud Infrastructure revenue will grow to $18 billion this fiscal year, and then to $32 billion, $73 billion, $114 billion, and $144 billion in the following four years.
Ellison's stake in Oracle increased by $117 billion on Wednesday, reaching around $395 billion. This increase in value was due to the doubling of Oracle's stock this year, which followed the company's phenomenal revenue growth supported by demand for artificial intelligence (AI) solutions.
In addition to his significant stake in Oracle, Ellison also holds about 1.6% of Tesla shares, which would be worth over $15 billion today. However, his wealth, as calculated by some sources, is significantly lower due to the deduction of pledged shares from his share count for net worth calculation.
Ellison stepped down from Tesla's board in 2022 and is no longer required to disclose his stake. Despite this, his wealth increase on Wednesday was greater than the market value of Nike, Robinhood, or DoorDash.
Ellison's wealth growth has also been aided by his strategic investments outside of Oracle. He has acquired several prominent properties, including the Hawaiian island of Lanai and luxury estates in California, which significantly increased his wealth by diversifying his investments beyond Oracle.
With Ellison's net worth now higher than Tesla CEO Elon Musk's ($393 billion), he has solidified his position as one of the world's wealthiest individuals. As Oracle continues to grow and innovate, it is expected that Ellison's wealth will continue to rise, making him a significant player in the global business landscape.
