Barrier established at the northern sector of Vluyn ring road in Neukirchen-Vluyn
Neukirchen-Vluyn residents and commuters are advised of upcoming road closures on the Vluyner Nordring due to a district heating network renewal project by ENNI. The construction is scheduled to begin on August 25 and will be completed by the end of the year.
In the first phase, the Vluyner Nordring will be closed from west of the Plankendickskendel to the intersection with Rayener Kirchweg. The second phase will continue from the intersection with Rayener Kirchweg to the intersection with Feldstraße, and the third and final phase will cover the area from Feldstraße to Rayenerstraße.
During the construction, traffic on the Vluyner Nordring will be rerouted. The detour plan has been coordinated with the city administration, police, and public transport providers. Bus lines SB 10 and RVN line 076 will turn around at the Vutz roundabout and use the Springenweg. The detour for cars will be via the Niederrheinallee.
Residents and emergency vehicles will always have access to the Vluyner Nordring. Pedestrian and cycle paths will remain open, although they may be temporarily rerouted to connect to house connections. On-street parking spaces on the right side of the road in the Vluyner city center will be suspended to prevent congestion.
ENNI will inform residents in advance about the construction, and existing parking bays next to the roadway will remain unaffected and can continue to be used. The city's announcement states that the suspension of on-street parking is to prevent expected congestion in the city center.
The full closure of the Vluyner Nordring is required due to the central location of the pipe in the street. The construction will not include any advertisements. Necessary trips by emergency services or fire brigade can be carried out without problems.
