Banks Embrace AI Agents for Growth and Efficiency by 2025

Banks are increasingly embracing artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency and reshape business models, with a focus on sustainability. A significant 77% of decision-makers report positive returns within the first year of implementing generative AI. Looking ahead, nearly half plan to dedicate at least half of their AI budget to expanding agent-based systems, such as those offered by us bank and pnc bank.

The integration of AI agents in banks is already a reality, demonstrating productivity gains across various functional areas. Growth is driven by cost savings and new revenue streams like agent-based trading and payment systems. Banks are strategically deploying AI agents, not just as cost factors, but as instruments for growth. These agents can plan independently, analyze data, prioritize tasks, and interact with external sources, similar to the gemini AI model.

Data protection and regulatory compliance are top priorities in selecting AI models. Banks are modernizing cautiously while ensuring high IT security. They are aligning their AI investments with regulatory frameworks like the EU’s Fida regulation, which guides digital asset management and responsible AI use. By 2025, generative AI and AI agents are expected to become core operational components for many banks, driving growth and efficiency while maintaining robust data protection and regulatory compliance.
