The Baden-Württemberg State Cabinet has ventured into the podcast market, with several ministries launching their own shows. The ministry of forestry kicked off 'Our Wood' in mid-September, with total costs reaching 14,280 euros. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Danyal Bayaz's (Greens) podcast 'Cashflow' has gained significant traction in the USA.

Initially, 'Cashflow' attracted 2,812 listeners, with an average of 416 users per broadcast. The first 30 episodes cost an average of 932.14 euros each. Now, the podcast is produced in-house, eliminating further costs.

The economics ministry's podcast 'Löwenherz' has so far spent 1,972.43 euros, attracting 233 listeners for its first episode. Another Green party member, Rudi Hoogvliet, launched 'SpätzlesPress', which had total costs of 36,179 euros and 256 listeners from 2024 to mid-August. The interior ministry's podcast had total costs of 49,230.30 euros and reached 14,230 listeners.

The Baden-Württemberg State Cabinet's foray into podcasting has seen varying degrees of success and cost. While some podcasts, like 'Cashflow', have been able to reduce costs by producing in-house, others continue to incur expenses. The total amount spent on podcasts and the specific impact on the state's communication strategies remain to be seen.
