AU Small Finance Bank adopts AI to revolutionize lending decisions

AU Small Finance Bank has teamed up with Intellect Design Arena to bring AI-powered banking to its operations. The bank, which runs over 2,790 touchpoints nationwide, plans to use the Purple Fabric platform for faster and more consistent lending decisions. The partnership will introduce PF Credit agents—AI tools designed to automate real-time credit assessments. These agents will first be deployed to speed up loan processing while keeping decisions uniform.

The Purple Fabric platform supports multiple large language models and handles vast amounts of structured and unstructured data. It allows financial institutions to integrate AI across different business functions.

Sanjay Agarwal, the bank’s founder and CEO, stated that AU aims to become an AI-first bank. Ramanan SV, CEO-India & South Asia at Intellect Design Arena, noted the difficulty of scaling enterprise AI into daily business use. The collaboration focuses on making AI practical for everyday banking tasks. AU Small Finance Bank will roll out the new technology to enhance efficiency in credit operations. The move is part of a broader push to modernise banking with AI-driven solutions. The platform’s ability to process large datasets is expected to improve decision-making across the bank.
