Atyrau Oblast allocates 16.5 billion tenge to boost farming and conservation in 2026

Key Budget Allocations

Atyrau Oblast allocates 16.5 billion tenge to boost farming and conservation in 2026

According to the Akimat (regional administration) of Atyrau Oblast, 16.5 billion tenge has been earmarked for agricultural development, environmental protection, and veterinary safety in 2026.

A portion of the funds will support veterinary and preventive measures. Some 13 million tenge is allocated for compensating livestock owners when products must be destroyed due to risks to human health or animal welfare. Another 42.5 million tenge will fund the identification and tagging of farm animals, while 266.2 million tenge is set aside for anti-epizootic initiatives.

The budget also includes 2.5 million tenge for registering agricultural machinery and 180.9 million tenge for pest control, with chemical treatments against locusts planned for 35,800 hectares. An additional 11.6 million tenge will go toward managing predator populations in the wild.

Environmental protection agencies will also receive funding. The Kurmangazy Forest and Wildlife Conservation institution is allocated 33.3 million tenge for forest protection and reforestation efforts.

Another 189.9 million tenge is designated for the Tabigat enterprise, covering maintenance of the Yeraly hydroelectric complex, repairs to flood-damaged hydraulic structures in Makhambet District, and canal restoration in Isatai District following the 2024 floods.

Additionally, the budget plans to allocate 2.5 billion tenge to subsidize the agribusiness sector and over 1 billion tenge to strengthen the material and technical capabilities of veterinary organizations.
