The bustling port city of Hài Phòng prepares to take center stage from July 15 to 18, 2025, as it hosts the third meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC 3). Approximately 250 delegates, brimming with senior leadership from major corporations and trade bodies, will grace its shores, marking a pivotal moment for regional economic integration and foreign investments.

The event, widely-anticipated, serves as a golden opportunity for Việt Nam to spotlight its committed engagement within APEC and establish fruitful connections with international partners and investors. Phạm Tàng Công, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), emphasized this significance at a press conference in Hà Nội.

Nguyễn Quang Vinh, VCCI's Vice Chairman, underscored the need for strengthened Asian-Pacific cooperation as the world grapples with ongoing health, geopolitical, and economic crises. In his words, economies in the region must address pressing demands for supply chain restructuring, digital transformation, and sustainable and inclusive growth.

The event's theme, 'Bridge - Business - Beyond,' encapsulates a promise to bolster connections, collaboration, and collective action in addressing global challenges and supporting regional development.

A platform unparalleled, ABAC 3 in Hài Phòng will empower our Vietnamese enterprises to engage with international partners and ABAC members, creating opportunities for fostering connections, advancing Việt Nam's investment environment, and partnering to nurture a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable Asia-Pacific region.

The meeting agenda encompasses a wide range of pressing matters, including free, fair, and sustainable trade and investment; digital transformation and innovation; capacity building for small- and medium-sized enterprises; green finance and inclusive growth; sustainable development; health security and resilient supply chains; and the role of businesses in propelling the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

A trade and investment promotion conference is slated to run concurrently in Hài Phòng Province, with an expected attendance of around 700 investors. Local authorities are set to award investment licenses for 19 projects totalling a colossal $10 billion, alongside the signing of six memorandums of understanding valued at $5 billion. These moves underscore Hài Phòng's rising popularity as a dynamic hub for international investment.
