Anthropic Names Guillaume Princen as Head of EMEA and Announces Over 100 New Positions in the Region

In a significant move to bolster its AI capabilities, Anthropic, the leading AI company, is set to create over 100 new roles across various functions this year. The expansion comes at a critical juncture when businesses are increasingly seeking advanced AI solutions.

The company's European footprint has grown with the opening of a research-focused office in Zurich, led by AI scientist Neil Houlsby. This expansion is strategic, according to Daniela Amodei, President and co-founder of Anthropic, who emphasises the importance of the EMEA region to Anthropic's future.

Guillaume Princen, a seasoned executive with a diverse background in engineering, strategic consulting, and technology startups, has been appointed as Head of EMEA. Princen, who was Stripe's first employee outside the United States, brings invaluable expertise in scaling businesses across diverse EMEA markets.

During his time at Stripe, Princen built and scaled Stripe's European operations, opening 12 offices. His commitment to responsible innovation made him a natural choice to lead Anthropic's expansion. Notably, Princen most recently served as CEO of Mooncard, the European expense management platform.

The majority of the new roles will be based in Dublin and London offices, with Anthropic planning to hire a variety of roles across sales, engineering, research, and business operations. European organizations are increasingly choosing Anthropic's AI capabilities, known for their intelligence, speed, industry-leading coding abilities, and thoughtful design.

Anthropic's focus remains on serving the thriving startup ecosystem while delivering advanced AI capabilities to major enterprises across the region. The role of head of EMEA at Anthropic was previously held by Rupert Barksfield, officially announced in August 2025.

The company has seen rapid organic growth in Europe since launching Claude, its flagship AI model. Interested candidates can find information about current career opportunities at Anthropic on their website. With this expansion, Anthropic continues to solidify its position as a leading AI company in the EMEA region.
