Andrei Bass to address trust in journalism at Far Eastern Media Summit

Belarusian media expert Andrei Bass will speak at the Far Eastern Media Summit in Birobidzhan from April 9 to 12. As First Deputy Director General of the Minsk-Novosti news agency, he will focus on the role of trust in journalism during his lecture on information cooperation between Belarus and Russia.

Bass has long emphasised that trust forms the foundation of professional journalism. Without it, he argues, the field loses its core purpose and traditional value. His upcoming lecture will explore how mutual understanding—cultural, historical, and moral—supports not just media relations but broader economic progress.

While modern tools like artificial intelligence and audience engagement strategies play a role, Bass insists they remain secondary. The primary goal, he maintains, is earning the confidence of readers, viewers, and listeners. He has also expressed appreciation for the chance to discuss ways to deepen informational ties between Belarus and Russia.

The Far Eastern Media Summit will provide a platform for Bass to share his views on journalism's future. His lecture will highlight trust as the central theme, alongside the importance of shared cultural and historical awareness. The event runs from April 9 to 12 in Birobidzhan.
