hey there, folks! Let's chat about some exciting transit news happening in Omsk, Russia! Our dear mayor, Sergei Sheleст, dropped a bombshell on April 2, 2025, revealing changes to the popular – albeit subjective – bus route No. 39.
"The transportation operator running the No. 39 bus route submitted a request to the transit department to modify the route scheme," Sheleст shared in his Telegram channel. "In accordance with the existing municipal contract, the No. 39 route will be extended to the final stop, SNT 'Ivushka,' during the gardening work period. The temporary suspension of service to 'Poselok Stepnoi' station applies," he added.
Beginning this Saturday, April 5, buses will follow the new route (see the diagram below).
For your information, the No. 39 route surfaced in Omsk on January 1, 2025, and covers much of the same path as route No. 72. Its journey stretches from the Chkalovskiy settlement to the October Administrative District, bypassing the Popov Factory, along the 10 лет Oktyabria Street, through Teatralnaya Ploshchad, and then along Gagarina and Gerzena, to the Amurskiy settlement. After passing the "Mikrorayon Pervokirpichnyy" stop, the bus continues to Poselok Stepnoi and SNT "Ivushka." Six mid-sized buses run on this route.
