Almaty's New Interchange: Improving Traffic Flow at Al-Farabi & Remizov
Almaty's city administration, the Almaty Akimat, has greenlit a plan to construct a transportation interchange at the busy intersection of Al-Farabi Avenue and Remizov Street. The project aims to improve traffic flow and safety in the area.
The chosen design minimises disruption to traffic and utility networks. Al-Farabi Avenue will remain open throughout the construction phase. The interchange will feature two key passes: the Remizov Underpass and the Al-Farabi Overpass. Additionally, a single-level interchange with a roundabout is planned for the intersection of Ushkempir and Kapparov Streets.
The project is scheduled for completion by January 2026, with a state expertise conclusion expected by the same date. The cost and detailed timeline for the construction work will be finalised once the project solutions are approved.
The Almaty Akimat's approved plan for the transportation interchange at Al-Farabi Avenue and Remizov Street promises improved traffic management with minimal disruption. The project is set to be completed by early 2026, with further details to be confirmed upon approval of the project solutions.
