Al Rowaiyah Truck Rest Stop undergoes substantial extension, increasing its capacity by a staggering 338% as per RTA's announcement.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai is working tirelessly to enhance the city's road network, with a focus on improving traffic safety. One of the latest initiatives in this endeavour is the expansion of the Al Rowaiyah Truck Rest Stop.
Located near Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road, the rest stop has increased its truck parking capacity from 40 to 175 slots. This significant 338% growth in capacity is designed to prevent truck-related accidents and reduce random truck parking on major roads.
Ahmed Al Khzaimy, Director of Traffic at the Traffic and Roads Agency, highlighted the importance of the expansion. He stated that the expanded facility ensures easy access and a safer environment for truckers, offering essential facilities such as restrooms, a prayer room, maintenance workshops for tire replacement and repairs, and a diesel refueling station.
The expansion supports RTA's ongoing commitment to enhancing land freight operations and improving driver services. It is part of RTA's vision "The World Leader in Seamless and Sustainable Mobility."
The improved Al Rowaiyah Truck Rest Stop is also designed to streamline truck movement on Emirates Road, contributing to RTA's vision for seamless and sustainable mobility. The expanded facility aims to improve traffic flow, providing a much-needed respite for heavy vehicle drivers and contributing to a safer road network across Dubai.
