Estonia, Netherlands, and Moldova Unite in Agricultural Twinning Project

Having a Ball in Moldova: Estonian Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Hendrik Johannes is currently in Moldova, and he's brought some exciting news! According to the Minister's spokespeople, he announced a collaboration between Estonia, the Netherlands, and Moldova, a twinning project that promises to reap benefits for all three countries.

Cooperate and Integrate: In current global circumstances, it's crucial for European Union (EU) member states and aspiring members to join forces. According to Terras, cooperation between EU members and aspirants is important for both sides' success.

At a meeting with his Moldovan counterpart, Ludmila Catlabuga, Terras was thrilled to see the project come to fruition. He expressed his belief that this new initiative would create a wealth of development opportunities for both Moldova and Estonia. He also extended his well-wishes for Moldova's EU integration process, likening it to Estonia's own journey that began 30 years ago.

The Beating Heart of the Project: The Estonian-Dutch-Moldovan project is all about improving monitoring, data management, and strengthening payment administration within the agricultural and food sector. Over the course of two years, this project, funded by the EU, will provide training to Moldovan partners through experts from Estonia's Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture, the Center of Estonian Rural Research and Knowledge, and the agricultural registers and information agency PRIA, working alongside experts from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. The Moldovan partner for this endeavor is the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

A Special Moment for Estonia: The Minister viewed the project's launch as a significant moment for Estonia, marking it as the first time they're leading an agriculture-related twinning project as a partner. This milestone comes after Estonia's integration with the EU, an event that remains close to every Estonian heart. The Minister expressed his hope that Moldova will one day experience the same sense of achievement and gratitude for this opportunity to work together. He also praised the commitment shown by Moldovan colleagues, expressing faith in their collective potential for even greater accomplishments.

Friends 'til the End: Relations between Estonia and Moldova are solid, as evidenced by frequent bilaterals. Moldova is a prime focus for Estonian development cooperation, with particular emphasis on e-governance, the rule of law, education, and regional development.

In the spirit of mutual development, the Estonian Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Hendrik Johannes proposed the integration of Moldovan, Estonian, and Dutch expertise in a project that extends beyond agriculture, aiming to cultivate collaboration in education and finance sectors as well, enriching the culture and business spheres of all three nations.

During the inauguration of the Estonian-Dutch-Moldovan project, Hendrik Johannes emphasized the importance of this tri-national collaboration, believing it would not only foster growth in the agricultural and food sector but also set a precedent in sports diplomacy, encouraging friendly competition and cultural exchanges.
