Africa Launches STAGES: A Fast-Track Digital Visa for Global Film Productions

A new digital visa scheme for international film and creative production companies has launched in Africa. Called STAGES, the initiative aims to cut processing delays and attract more foreign productions to the continent.

The Screen Talent and Global Entry Scheme (STAGES) was introduced by the Department of Home Affairs on 10 November 2025. It replaces older, slower paper-based systems with an online platform for faster visa approvals.

STAGES is designed to make Africa a top choice for global creative productions. By speeding up visa processes, the government hopes to boost the national economy and create more jobs in the sector.
