250kg Cheese Smuggling Ring Busted at Brest Border
Brest customs officers have foiled an illegal cheese smuggling operation. A total of 250 kilograms of cheese, worth 30,000 rubles, was seized at the 'Brest' border crossing. The organizer, a 45-year-old Belarusian citizen, was detained while attempting to transport the cheese to Russia.
The man used a scheme involving others to transport the cheese in small batches, claiming it was for personal use. However, the sheer quantity and value of the cheese raised suspicions. The seized cheese originated from Poland and was European in nature.
The detained citizen faces potential penalties of up to 30 basic units (1,260 rubles) in fines and the confiscation of the smuggled goods. An administrative process has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Republic of Belarus' Code of Administrative Offenses.
The illegal smuggling of European cheese into Belarus has been exposed, with a significant quantity and value of cheese seized. The organizer has been detained, and an administrative process has begun. This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat smuggling activities in the region.
